New Brunswick
New Brunswick was one of the first provinces, along with Ontario, Québec and Nova Scotia, to join together to form the Dominion of Canada in 1867. As part of Canada, New Brunswick has experienced immigration on a smaller scale from all over the world, and today boasts a varied and increasingly multicultural population. Many languages are spoken in this province however, according to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms in the Canadian Constitution, both English and French are the official languages of New Brunswick, making it the only officially bilingual province. I first opened my practice, Fredricton Pearls of Wisdom Counselling, in February 2023. Having always known I wanted to work with children it was not long before I sought out further training and I began my play therapy training the same month. Since then I have have been utilizing play therapy informed practice with children and adolescents. I recognize that every child has their own story and as such I use a variety of play based techniques to create personalized and integrative approach. My goal is to provide a warm, inviting space where everyone feels safe to express themselves in whichever way feels the most natural to them.
